Welcome to Focused Marriages

About Us

Jason and Angel Scott have been together (dating) 28+ years and married 27+ years. They met back in 1994 on a blind date set up by Angel’s best friend and two months later, when Angel finally decided to call Jason, it was history after connecting. The two talked on the phone for two weeks before even laying an eye on each other and immediately developed a bond. Once they saw each other, everything Angel’s best friend had anticipated and everything they felt on the phone, became a reality.

Angel’s daughter, Tiarra, was two years old at the time and Jason knew it was going to be a package deal if he wanted to continue the relationship. Sure enough, Jason fell in love with Tiarra as quickly as he fell in love with Angel, and from then on, the bond of all three grew stronger. When Jason finally proposed to Angel, she shot him down, and it wasn’t until the second attempt that she accepted. Shortly after celebrating their first year of marriage, they welcomed an addition to the family. Their son Jasiah was born.

Early in Jason and Angel’s relationship, Jason told Angel that they would be providing marriage coaching to couples. Angel’s first response was, “no, not I,” as she was shy and clueless to relationship coaching/advising couples. Despite the hesitation, several years later they were selected to be a part of the Marriage Ministry in their church due to their maturity and the Grace within their relationship. Jason and Angel are very qualified as they have attended numerous marriage trainings/enrichment over the years in ministry and continues to participate in marriage enrichment seminars to stay current with marital coaching tactics and education.

Fast forward to present day, Jason and Angel have been providing marriage coaching/advising to engaged and married couples for over 15 years. Advising couples has become a passion of theirs and they know that this is a part of their purpose as a married couple. They truly take personal interest in ensuring engaged couples are prepared, with as much foundational knowledge as possible, before getting married and coaching married couples on day-to-day practices to keep the fire burning within their marriage. It hasn’t always been perfect, but Jason and Angel have been able to work through the challenges of marriage, as a couple, as a blended family, and as parents. Their coaching/advising is based on both Christian biblical principles and their own personal experiences. Jason also officiate weddings for many of the couples they coach. While we realize that everyone has a preference when choosing their mate, Jason only officiates weddings for male and female ceremonies, according to Christian principles. Couples will have a choice of Traditional or Christian Vows. Couples don’t just want to know how much you know, but how much you care; and these two care deeply about those who seek their advice.7
